Longs Drugs Challenge - 3rd Round

In-Kyung Kim's third straight round in the 60s kept her atop the leaderboard at the Longs Drugs Challenge.  Angela Stanford is one shot behind at -10 while Yani Tseng and Mollie Fankhauser are tied for third at -6.

Star-divide

Kim only bogeyed once Saturday (at the par-5 15th) as she bids for the first victory of her two-year career.  Stanford finished with three straight birdies to join Inky in Sunday's final group.  Among those were Angela's second birdie in three tries at the long par-3 16th, the toughest hole on the course.  Tseng birdied 15 and 18 to keep herself within shouting distance at -6 while Fankhauser, who was tied for the lead at the turn, bogeyed three times on the back to fall back to the same position.  Kristy McPherson birdied three times down the stretch to reach -5 and solo fifth.  Lorena Ochoa posted 74 (a double at the 1st foreshadowed her day) and stands tied for sixth with Sarah Kemp at -4, down by seven shots.

The windy conditions again kept scoring at a premium and allowed Inky and Angela to gain separation from the rest of the field.  Their sub-70 rounds were two of only five posted on the day (the other three were all 69s) and only 14 rounds total were under par.  If conditions are similar today, we may be watching a match-play event this evening.
