ROY award in Tseng's grasp

I just noticed that Rolex rookie points are only awarded at full-field domestic events.  So with only two of those remaining, Yani Tseng is very close to locking up the Rookie of the Year award.

Tseng goes into Longs with a 199-point lead over Na Yeon Choi, the only player who could catch her.  The maximum points Choi can gain at one event is 150.  Choi must finish at least 10th at Longs (while Tseng misses the cut) to have any chance of passing Yani next week at Kapalua.  If Choi wins Longs, she will shave at least 70 points off the deficit no matter what Tseng does.

In case you were wondering, the Player of the Year race includes all events so there are a few more chances for players to catch Lorena Ochoa for that honor (not likely, of course).

Lazy

The golf media rather do another puff piece on the Pink Panther than do anything that makes them have to think.
