ADT Championship - 1st Round
Katherine Hull posted a 68 and leads the ADT Championship by one stroke. Ji-Yai Shin and In-Kyung Kim are tied for second while Na Yeon Choi, Eun-Hee Ji and Ji Young Oh are tied for fourth two shots back.
Of course the important question is: Which players are in the top 16? The dividing line neatly falls at par - everyone above par is currently out, everyone at par or better is in:

68 Katherine Hull
69 Ji-Yai Shin, In-Kyung Kim
70 Na Yeon Choi, Eun-Hee Ji, Ji Young Oh
71 Paula Creamer, Christina Kim, Karen Stupples
72 Yani Tseng, Suzann Pettersen, Seon Hwa Lee, Maria Hjorth
72 Jee Young Lee, Candie Kung, Morgan Pressel
73 Angela Stanford, Jeong Jang, Helen Alfredsson
73 Karrie Webb, Nicole Castrale, Angela Park
74 Annika Sorenstam, Hee-Won Han, Sun Young Yoo
75 Lorena Ochoa, Song-Hee Kim, Laura Diaz
78 Cristie Kerr, Shanshan Feng, Meena Lee
WD Inbee Park
Inbee was double-digits above par when she withdrew midway through the back nine. Through 12 holes, Ochoa was +5 thanks mainly to double-bogeys at 7 and 12. Kerr also doubled twice (at 4 and 16). Sorenstam was +4 through 10 but birdied 14 and 15 to right the ship.
Hull was -2 at the turn, went bogey-birdie at 10-11, birdie-bogey at 13-14, and birdied 15 and 16 to claim the lead. Inky reached -4 after birdies at 14 and 16 but a bogey at 18 cost her a share of the overnight lead. Playing in the first group, Shin jumped out to -3 through 7 but couldn't ever get to -4 as she played the bogey-birdie game at 13-14 and 16-17. Oh reached -4 with birdies at 13 and 14 but suffered back-to-back bogeys at 16 and 17. Choi was +2 through 7 but played the last 11 in -4. Jee Young Lee may have made the best turnaround - after reaching +3 with four straight bogeys to finish the front, she birdied three straight on the back (13, 14, 15) and finished even par.

Hang On Tight
I looked at quite a few scorecards. Many golfers were looking okay after the first nine but gave shots back on the closing nine.
An approach for Friday may be – Take what you can get in the front 9 and hang on tight for the wild ride on the back nine.
