Miho Koga Wins Ricoh Cup and JLPGA Money Title
Miho Koga birdied her last 2 holes in the final round of the JLPGA Tour Championship Ricoh Cup to get to -6, then benefitted from a birdie-bogey finish by Yuri Fudoh and a bogey-double bogey finish by Mi-Jeong Jeon that dropped each to -5. With this improbable win, Koga not only tied Fudoh for the most wins on tour in 2008 (4), but also passed Ji-Hee Lee for the #1 spot on the final JLPGA money list (120.85M yen to 119.65M). I wonder how different the Lexus Cup results would have been if Koga and Fudoh (or, for that matter, Sakura Yokomine, who finished 3rd on the money list despite only winning once this season) had represented Japan on Team Asia? It's kind of sad that a tournament sponsored by Toyota can't be scheduled to accommodate Japan's finest!
