2009 LPGA Schedule

The schedule for next year hasn't been officially released yet, but we now have 20 events which have already posted 2009 dates on their websites or have issued press releases of one kind or another (majors in bold):

Feb 12-14       SBS Open

Feb 26-Mar 1  Honda LPGA Thailand

Mar 5-8            HSBC Women's Champions

Mar 20-22       MasterCard Classic

Apr 2-5            Kraft Nabisco Championship

Apr 16-19        Ginn Open

May 7-10         Michelob Ultra Open

May 14-17       Sybase Classic

May 21-24       LPGA Corning Classic

May 28-31       Tulsa (no longer SemGroup)

Jun 11-14        LPGA Championship

Jun 25-28         Wegmans LPGA

Jul 2-5              Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic

Jul 9-12            U.S. Women's Open

Jul 23-26          Evian Masters

Jul 30-Aug 2   Ricoh Women's British Open

Sep 3-6            CN Canadian Women's Open

Sep 11-13       P&G Beauty NW Arkansas Championship

Oct 1-4            Navistar Classic

Oct 8-11          Bell Micro Classic

No word yet on the Stanford Pro-Am or any replacement for the Safeway International.

How Worried Should Players and Fans Be?

Does the LPGA schedule for the next year usually have so few confirmed tournaments at this time of year? Didn’t the LPGA have over 30 tournaments a year in the old days and the overwhelming majority were full field events? Everything has to change, I guess.
