Quest For The Card - Navistar Update

Only two full-field events remain for players to secure Category 1 (money list Top 80) or Category 11 (Top 100) status.  After this weekend's results at Navistar, I have lowered my projected target for the Top 80 by $4000 to $138,000.  Based on that number and the Bubble Players' results in Prattville, here are the changes from last week's post:

Star-divide

LOCKS:

I now consider players at #76 and above to be a Lock for the Top 80.  #76 Heather Young missed the cut this week but she was already $4000 ahead of my new target number.  Soo-Yun Kang (73) and Il Mi Chung (74) made a little money and Alena Sharp (72) finished T34 to get safe.  #75 Na On Min holed out for eagle at 18 on Sunday to jump up to T22.  Those two shots saved earned Min an extra $5000, which makes a huge difference at this stage.

RELAXED:

Russy Gulyanamitta (77) was not in the Navistar field and was fortunate the target number fell about $1400 below her.  She might not be so lucky at Longs.

APPREHENSIVE:

Moira Dunn (78) missed the cut and Linda Wessberg (79) did not play.  They are both $5000-6000 short of the target and really need to make both cuts or one Top 40 to get safe.

NERVOUS:

Wendy Doolan (80) needed a miracle and she almost got it - a tie for sixth to earn $35,624.  She is now less than $12,000 away from the Top 80 target.  One Top 30 finish or a couple of Top 40s should accomplish that.  Jennifer Rosales (81) was not at Navistar and needs $13,000.  Gloria Park's (82) T22 was a good first step but she still needs $15,000 (about 20th place or two Top 40s) to get there.

SWEATING BULLETS:

Dorothy Delasin (83) finished T39 which wasn't good enough to keep her from slipping down a category.  Dot still needs more than $17,000.  Meredith Duncan's (85) T72 and Danielle Downey's (86) missed cut leave them over $20,000 off the pace.

BACK AGAINST THE WALL:

These players need between $25,000 and $31,000 to reach the target:  Erica Blasberg (87), Kris Tamulis (88), Jamie Hullett (89), Johanna Head (90), Kelli Kuehne (91) and Reilley Rankin (93).  Hullett and Rankin both finished in the Top 40 at Navistar but still need at least a Top 10 to get it done.

NEED A MIRACLE:

Everyone from #94 Eva Dahllof on down needs at least $35,000 - probably seventh place or better - to reach the target.

The target for the Top 100 remains at $102,000.  The updated categories are:

LOCKS:

#93 Rankin and above.  Reilley's T39 secured a spot $5000 over the target.  Doolan and Hullett were the others to lock up a Top 100 spot at Navistar.

RELAXED:

Dahllof (94) missed the cut but is still $1200 over the target number.

APPREHENSIVE:

Mikaela Parmlid (96) is only about $4500 short after her T22 finish.  One more made cut ought to get her there.

NERVOUS:

Karin Sjodin (98), Eunjung Yi (99), Michelle Ellis (100) and Dina Ammaccapane (101).  All but Dina made the Navistar cut but Yi's T34 was the best of them and that wasn't enough cash to make Eunjung's situation any less tense. They all need $6000-8000 to reach the target.  Charlotte Mayorkas (103) finished T39 to move up to this category but still needs $12,000.  A Top 30 or two made cuts might be enough for Charlotte.

SWEATING BULLETS:

These players need between $17,000 and $20,000 to reach the target:  Taylor Leon (104), Carolina Llano (105), Sherri Turner (106), Brandie Burton (107), Mollie Fankhauser (108) and Jimin Jeong (109).  That's a Top 15 finish most likely, or two Top 30s.

BACK AGAINST THE WALL:

Mhari McKay (112), Paige Mackenzie (113) and Sarah Jane Kenyon (114) each need about $24,000 (probably a Top 10 finish).  Kenyon made a huge jump at Navistar and collected a Top 20 in Mobile so don't count her out yet.

NEED A MIRACLE:

#116 Beth Bader on down.

ah yes...

I forgot about that. That means making the Top 100 does nothing for Sarah. She would need $60,000 to reach the Top 80, which would improve her status.
