Big Three Stats - Final 2009

My longtime readers know that when I'm analyzing players' performances, I have three measures that I like to use - two of which are my own creation.  They are Total Driving, Greens In Regulation and Total Putting.  Before I get down to profiling the top players (as I love to do during the off-season), I had to get the numbers crunched for my two Frankenstats and build a spreadsheet to share with you the rankings of all 150 players for whom the LPGA published stats for 2009.

Big Three Stats spreadsheet - final 2009

The Top 20 of each category I'll list right here:

Total Driving

1.  Lorena Ochoa

2.  Angela Stanford

3.  Na Ri Kim

4.  Brittany Lang

5.  Cristie Kerr

6.  Paula Creamer

8.  Maria Hjorth

9.  Sun Young Yoo

10. Becky Lucidi

11. Ai Miyazato

12. Shanshan Feng

13. Karin Sjodin

14. Kristy McPherson

15. Yani Tseng

16. Suzann Pettersen

17. Helen Alfredsson

18. Vicky Hurst

19. Seon Hwa Lee

20. Na Yeon Choi

GIR

1.  Paula Creamer

2.  Cristie Kerr

3.  Wendy Ward

4.  Maria Hjorth

5.  Brittany Lang

6.  Sun Young Yoo

T7  In-Kyung Kim

T9  Suzann Pettersen

20. Shiho Oyama

Total Putting

1.  Inbee Park

2.  Jiyai Shin

3.  Song-Hee Kim

4.  Lorena Ochoa

5.  Ai Miyazato

6.  M.J. Hur

7.  Michelle Wie

8.  Natalie Gulbis

9.  Amy Hung

10. Ashleigh Simon

11. Haeji Kang

12. In-Kyung Kim

13. Katherine Hull

14. Suzann Pettersen

15. Hee-Won Han

16. Catriona Matthew

17. Minea Blomqvist

18. Soo-Yun Kang

19. Sarah Lee

20. Sandra Gal

Lorena Ochoa, Jiyai Shin, Ai Miyazato and Suzann Pettersen are the only players in the Top 20 of all three categories.  Hmm...that's four of my top six for 2009, and the other two Top Six'ers are only missing from the Total Putting list (Kerr is 27th, Choi is 31st).  Those lists correlated fairly well, didn't they?

I'm anxiously awaiting Tatkins' final Adjusted Putting Average numbers so I can compare his results with Total Putting.  His method is a very good one that might have less outside influences than mine.
