Honda LPGA Thailand - 1st Round
Jin Joo Hong opened with a 66 to take a two-shot lead at the Honda LPGA Thailand. Angela Stanford, Paula Creamer, Helen Alfredsson, Brittany Lang and Kristy McPherson are all tied for second place.
Hong, a third-year player who has only registered two Top 10 finishes since winning the KOLON-Hana Bank event in 2006, bogeyed twice on the front nine but still went out in 35. An eagle at the par-5 11th and birdies at 13, 15 and 16 brought her home in 31. Lang was the only member of the second-place quintet to complete her round bogey-free. Other scores after the jump:

You can put me in the category of "mildly concerned" as it pertains to Ji-Yai Shin's start to the season. Only one birdie and four bogeys (three of them on the apparently easier back nine) after missing the SBS cut two weeks ago. At least Shin came out better on Thursday than defending champion Suzann Pettersen, who doubled-bogeyed two of the par-5s (ugh) on her way to 77.
Bad news for most of us on the online coverage - the linked page informs me that "The content on this site is available for users located in Thailand only".
