Lowly Blogger to appear on Inside The LPGA
Ryan Ballengee, editor-in-chief of Waggle Room (and owner of his own condo), will join Karen and me tomorrow night at 7pm EDT on Inside The LPGA at PrimeSportsNetwork.com. We'll be reviewing Karrie Webb's win at the J Golf Phoenix, previewing the Kraft Nabisco Championship and discussing our plan for golf media domination.

See what happens when you blaze a new trail
Everyone forget us you after a while. I blogged not one but two LPGA tournaments before the LPGA put a policy in place. In shorts not boxers. Now I’m becoming like Neil Armstrong.(No he didn’t play the PGA tour in the 1970’s. That was Wally) No one remembers me.
And all of you will get to do another tournament or 2 or 3 before the LPGA gets back to Florida again. By the time they do, I’ll probably have ceased blogging due to health reasons.
I’m being sarcastic. Partly at least. Have fun tomorrow. Cheers
Bill
I will always remember Neil Armstrong
and there’s a good chance I’ll remember somebody else put the notion in the LPGA’s collective head that bloggers could be an asset to them. Thanks for helping set the table for the rest of us, Bill and I’m STILL counting on you to cover south Florida for the League of Blogs.
Low Americanit
You and Karen discussed low american. It was Angela Park. She’s a naturalized US citizen, lived in the US for 10 years, and has two brothers serving this country. The LPGA and its dumb Solheim cup qualifying rules shouldn’t be the yardstick as to what nationality Ms. Park is.
you are correct, of course
When Karen brought that up, I didn’t have the Phoenix leaderboard in front of me and I forgot Angela. No offense to her citizenship intended. No offense to Karen or you, but a player’s nationality never seems to concern me.
One of my pet peeves
Angela Park’s nationality has been one of those ever since Tampa Tribune’s Mick Elliot labeled her a South Korean at the end of last year’s US Open. If Angela is South Korean, I’m Polish because I got Polish blood in me and been to that country on vacation.
Asians are looked upon by many in the US as lesser citizens. This not being helped by bigotry in the media, who stereotype or make fun of them. I heard members of the media make fun of players for the way they talk at the golf tournaments I covered. If you want some blatant bigotry, look at MSNBC who headlined ‘American beats Kwan’ back in 1998 after the figure skating competitions were done at the Olympics. There was a small uproar over that, including coverage of it by the Seattle times. Then 4 years later, the Seattle Times did the exact same thing!
I’m not accusing you and Karen of this, just be careful when treading on the subject of Americans in golf. When I made predictions for the 2009 LPGA season, I said this mixup would happen. ;)
Cheers,
Bill
