Comments on the rankings after the jump:

Star-divide

For the first time ever, neither Jeong Jang nor Mi Hyun Kim is ranked in the Hound Dog Top 30.  JJ and Peanut have both made every edition of my player rankings since I began blogging in July 2006.  The only remaining players who have been in every Top 30 are Lorena Ochoa, Paula Creamer, Cristie Kerr, Karrie Webb, Seon Hwa Lee, Annika Sorenstam and Hee-Won Han.  Annika will probably stay in the Top 30 through June but will certainly drop out after that.  Ochoa has been ranked #1 since November 2006, my final list of the '06 season.

Jang is unfortunately among the big downers this month, joining Inbee Park, Christina Kim, Karen Stupples, Laura Diaz and Stacy Prammansudh.  Moving up fast are In-Kyung Kim, Ji Young Oh, Michelle Wie, Ai Miyazato, Hee Young Park, Wendy Ward, Natalie Gulbis and Brittany Lincicome.  A whole bunch of newcomers make the Top 70 this month, led by Amy Yang and a group of players who coincidentally played great at Corning.

Paula Creamer's great finish at Corning bumped her into the #2 spot just ahead of Shin, whose play has been indifferent of late.  Song-Hee Kim makes her first appearance in my Top 10 while Hee Young Park and Kristy McPherson appear in the Top 30 for the first time.  Wendy Ward technically is in my Top 30 for the first time but she would have been ranked there at the end of 2006 had I been listing 30 names instead of 20.  Wendy also came in 9th in my retro-rankings for 2001, the best season of her career.

I think Christina Kim’s excellent Tweets should place her higher in your rankings. She is almost single-handedly bringing dozens of other LPGA players onto Twitter. It’s great for the fans.

Agree

Twitter has been very entertaining. Esp Christina, Paige and Morgan. Others are catching on. I have a feeling Twitter will burn out by the end of the year. Its been fun to this point.
