U.S. Women's Open Sectional Qualifying

As he so often does, Ryan at Waggle Room beat me to the punch on the Sectional Qualifying results from yesterday.  The complete list of qualifiers can be found here.  Congratulations to Jimin Kang and Carolina Llano, who led the way at the Rockville, Maryland site, and to all of the others who played their way in like Alena Sharp, Brandie Burton, Sarah Lee and Mika Miyazato.  Making the Open field from other sectional competitions held in recent days were Rosie Jones (!), Miki Saiki and a whole bunch of amateurs (24 in all) led by Kimberly Kim, Victoria Tanco and Alexis Thompson.

The unfortunates include Natalie Gulbis, Michelle Wie, Wendy Ward, Vicky Hurst and Anna Rawson.  Those first three are the only players in my current top 50 who will not be at Saucon Valley three weeks from Thursday (aside from Annika Sorenstam, of course).
