Since Larry's last rumor came true...

From the Life On Tour blog -

Hold on to your seats! What many have been hoping for may come true by the end of next week.

I can only presume that this refers to Madame Commissioner.  Any other guesses?

one can only hope...

But I think it’s more likely that one or more tournaments will be renewing, which is almost as good. Right?

Truth has a well-known liberal bias.

Looks like he may have edited it, a somewhat toned down version

It now reads:

“Hold on to your seats! May have some good news by the end of next week.”

Before seeing the more exciting initial version, my impression was identical to dianemarie’s, most like a new event(s).

Regardless, I hope she’s gone. The comment that enraged me was telling the players at the recent meeting that there were prospects for 10 new events next year, or something along those lines. That screams of ineptitude. There is no way a commish of bare minimal competence could weigh the two variables in anything close to equal footing, a long established event and a vague prospect of a new sponsor remarkably swimming against the economic tide and aligning at high dollars and long term. Bivens seemingly has no clue what she is forfeiting every time an event drops off the schedule. There are allegiances from players, fans, local businesses, local media, and so forth, tentacles galore. Stability and loyalty like that cannot be fully replaced, even if the 10 new possibilities were legit, which is no doubt nonsense. If I were a player I would have stood and ridiculed her from the floor as soon as a mush statement like that was made.
