China Event Falls Off The 2009 Schedule

After being listed as TBD for its sponsor and venue this entire season, the LPGA's event in China (which held its inaugural just last fall) is now officially off the schedule, per a report from Ron Sirak of Golfweek magazine.  Can't say I'm terribly surprised.  There is apparently some hope for its return in 2010.

The 2009 schedule now contains only 27 events - 17 played so far and only 10 remaining.  In case you hadn't been keeping a scorecard, here is the remainder of this year's sked:

Safeway Classic

CN Canadian Open

P&G NW Arkansas Championship

Samsung World Championship

CVS/pharmacy LPGA Challenge

Navistar LPGA Classic

Hana Bank KOLON Championship

Mizuno Classic

Lorena Ochoa Invitational

LPGA Tour Championship

Aug 28-30

Sep 3-6

Sep 11-13

Sep 17-20

Sep 24-27

Oct 1-4

Oct 30-Nov 1

Nov 6-8

Nov 12-15

Nov 19-22

After Solheim the ladies will play six straight weeks, have three straight weeks off (ugh), then play four in a row to finish The Incredible Shrinking Season.
