Golf Channel will be providing extensive coverage of next week's Solheim Cup and have added Judy Rankin (normally an ABC/ESPN contractee) to their usual broadcast team.  With 17.5 hours of airtime to fill, the addition of Rankin should be a major positive.

As the Stina Sternberg/Golf Digest article linked to suggests, this could be a prelude to Judy joining Dottie Pepper and company next year when GC begins it's exclusive cable deal with the LPGA.  Despite my past negative comments about her (she occasionally contradicts herself and tends to talk about the same things too often), I feel that having Rankin available - especially on those weeks that Pepper is otherwise committed to NBC - will only boost the overall GC coverage.  As long as Brian Hammons never gets a week off, that is.
