Will New Owners of Superstition Mountain Try to Draw LPGA Back to Phoenix?
Or was the switch to a public course Phoenix's last gasp? Why the heck is Waste Management doing a PGA event and not an LPGA one? Isn't there at least one other corporation in Phoenix making money?

The LPGA has a long history
of playing tournaments at courses that are having homes built around them. The builders want the tournament to promote their housing projects. Then when the building is done or near completion, the tournament either folds or moves to another golf course and the cycle begins again.
There was a South Florida tournament that fit this description. It was played at Deer Creek, the golf course that my HS golf team played on. In the mid-80’s it moved to a place called Stonebridge in Boca Raton. Stonebridge was a development still being built as the tournaments were being played there.
