Navistar Classic - Final Round

Katherine Hull took the lead with a birdie at 17 and went on to win the Navistar LPGA Classic.  It is her first victory of the season and the second of her seven-year LPGA career.  Brittany Lincicome finished one shot behind at -18 while Cristie Kerr and Na Yeon Choi tied for third at -17.

Playing in the final group with the overnight leader Kerr, Hull began the day trailing by three strokes.  She birdied the first hole to draw within two but for a long while afterwards the well was dry - the rest of the front nine brought only pars.  Meanwhile Kerr was only making pars too, which allowed Choi to draw even when she birdied 7 and 8 to go -17.  When Cristie bogeyed 9, NYC was alone in front.  Katherine opened the back nine with a birdie at 10 to draw within one.  A couple groups ahead, Choi bogeyed 12 to create a four-way tie for the lead.  Several groups further ahead was Lincicome, who birdied 15 take the lead for the first time.  Kerr and Hull each birdied 12 to get back into the tie, now at -17.  Lincicome birdied 16 to go back in front.  Unfortunately for Brittany, that was her last birdie - by the time she reached the clubhouse and recorded her 65, both Kerr and Hull had birdied 12 and 14 to join her at -18.  The final twosome each parred 15 and 16.  Hull birdied 17 to go -19 and into the solo lead.  She parred 18 while Kerr, who needed birdie to force a playoff, took bogey instead to fall into the tie for third.

The coverage on Golf Channel is set to begin at 6:30pm EDT so I'll try to get some more of the details.  For now - Congratulations Katherine!

Nice to see Katherine back in the winners circle.
I couldn’t help notice that Angela Park is really struggling with her game. If I had to guess, I would say she is playing injured or her game has gone south on her, a complete turn around from only a few years ago.
