Mizuno Classic - 1st Round
Jiyai Shin and Yukari Baba fired 65s to lead after one round of the Mizuno Classic. Morgan Pressel is alone in third place one shot behind while Na Yeon Choi, Meena Lee, Karine Icher, Chie Arimura and Miki Saiki are tied for fourth place.
19 players broke 70, 39 broke par and the worst round posted was +5 77; it wouldn't be Mizuno if the scores weren't low. Shin birdied the first four holes, went out in 31 and despite two bogeys on the back, came home in 34. Baba's only bogey came at 12 (one of Shin's two came there also) as she birdied four times on each nine. The other scores:

A couple of scoring oddities to report: Hee Young Park eagled back-to-back holes - the par-4 6th and par-5 7th - to tie an LPGA record shared by 18 others (from LPGA.com). At the time she was -4 but unfortunately Park played the last 11 holes in +5 to post a 73. Seon Hwa Lee's hole-in-one at 17 was her only hole under par among the first 11 she played (started at 10). She birdied three of her last seven to post 70.
