Noticed Ai Miyazato overtook Christie Kerr for the top spot in the Rolex rankings.

The LPGA website no longer has the “Christie Kerr, World #1” pop-up on their home page.

just curious – but Miyazato regained her #1 ranking and is the defending Evian champion – how come she’s at #9 ?

Hot 20 just covers the last several events

with more weight on the more recent weeks. Pretty sure I’ve mentioned that before. While Miyazato did win at ShopRite in mid-June, she hasn’t played quite as well otherwise in that span (only one other Top 20 in the last seven events). Hot 20 and Rolex measure different things. Rolex and my Top 70 rankings both rank Ai #1 mainly because she’s won five times in the last 12 months.

Now if you’re really asking “how could Miyazato pass up Kerr for Rolex #1 and be behind Cristie on the Hot 20”, you need to ask the Rolex people. As I said in my latest Top 70 post, the two are dead even just about any way you want to look at it.

from JLPGA....

…Yuri Fudoh, Sun-Ju Ahn, and Mi-Jeong Jeon are the hottest (so long as Jeon has forgotten Oakmont).
