U.S. Women's Open - 2nd Round Suspended
The forecasted thunderstorms began about 2:30pm today and play has been suspended until 7:30am tomorrow. 57 players completed their rounds including first-round leader Brittany Lang, who posted 74 and currently stands +1 and tied for second place. The best completed round was a 70 by Stacy Lewis, who now is at +3 T22 and could be in the Top 10 by round's end. Two 71s have been carded, by Heather Bowie Young and Cristie Kerr, who is tied with Lang at +1. Yesterday's Cinderella, Kelli Shean, shot 79 to fall to T59 +7. She'll make the cut, I promise you. Sophie Gustafson birdied her first hole of the day to take the lead at even par. The leaderboard right now with the number of holes completed in the third column:
|
E +1 +1 +1 +1 +1 +1 +1 +2 |
Sophie Gustafson Brittany Lang Cristie Kerr Kristy McPherson Shinobu Moromizato Wendy Ward Song-Hee Kim Jeong Eun Lee 12 players |
1 F F 2 1 2 0 0 - |
Of the bunch at +2, the only player finished is Christina Kim - most of them haven't even teed off as yet. At +3 only Lewis and Amy Yang are done while the only +4 in the clubhouse is Natalie Gulbis. These players will surely move up as the round gets completed in the morning. When that happens I'll post a proper recap.
