LPGA Cards Secured By Futures Tour Top 10

PrintCindy LaCrosse won her third Futures Tour event of the season on Sunday - putting an exclamation point on her #1 status on that tour - and nine other players joined her in securing LPGA Tour cards for the 2011 season. Jennifer Song, Christine Song, Jenny Shin and Gerina Mendoza completed the Top 5 to receive Category-9 status while Angela Oh, Ryann O'Toole, Tiffany Joh (woo-hoo!!), Hannah Jun and Pornanong Phatlum earned Category-17 status by finishing in the money list Top 10. Jane Rah finished T40 in the Price Chopper Tour Championship and came up just over $1000 short of earning her card.
With her third FT win of the year, LaCrosse also earns Category-13 status for the remainder of the 2010 LPGA season. She already was in Position #158 - this "battlefield promotion" will boost her to #145, which might make a difference as early as this week. As of Monday morning, Cindy was listed as the sixth alternate for the event in Arkansas but should now make the field easily.

Do the second 5 get any DFT excemption for next year since they are close to bottom of the barrel for LPGA Tour events ?

yes
I couldn’t find anything specifically for next year but at the DFT website, this document says that the Top 90 of the 2009 DFT money list were fully exempt for the DFT in 2010.
