Hot 20 - Kraft Nabisco Championship

Did you notice that last week's Hot 20 listed the eventual champion Sandra Gal?  Which of these twenty will be the one on top in Rancho Mirage?

lists the 12 women who have qualified for the CME Titleholders so far. We’ve had it confirmed that only LPGA members can qualify, which is bad news for Chie Arimura (although actually, as I noted at the time, it’s the week before their equivalent, which is also their 4th major, so I question whether JLPGA pros would make the trip anyway) and for Lexi Thompson (who would have been in with a great shot at making it).

With respect to a number of very good players out there (especially Song-Hee), I think that the only two megastars missing from that dozen so far are Ai and Suzann, and to be honest I’m pretty confident that they’ll each be recording a top 3 finish before we need to worry. But this list really illustrates your “what’s the point?” question. Sandra apart (with respect), it wouldn’t particularly surprise me if the top 10 at KNC was drawn exclusively from these players. We are already – after just 4 stops – into the territory whereby most of the true global elite have already bagged their places, and players will be able to start “punching their tickets” with finishes outside the top 3 pretty swiftly I suspect.

I love the publicity aspect, but will it make sense for double-winner (so far) Karrie to be at Titleholders as a representative of Honda – where she finished third?

Oh well!
