Call this the Pat Hurst clause) gets picked by Beth Daniel as a captain's selection so Wie, Hurst, Prammanasudh, C Kim or any others(Jane Park) will have to make it the old fashioned way. If you want to know why I say this, click here.

The data is inflation adjusted career earnings position, inflation adjusted career earnings, career earnings, and postion on career earnings list. Sometime next week I will have a list of all players in my database.

Sarah Oh's Bio Still up on LPGA Site

While looking at some of the new profile pictures of the girls of the LPGA tour, I noticed that Sarah Oh's bio is still listed on the LPGA official site.

Although she apparently did not gain status at Q-School (an issue that if you've been paying attention you should be well versed in) her bio hasn't been removed as were other 2008 Rookies who've lost status (Violeta Retamoza, Sukjin Lee-Weusthoff, et al.).

Her bio isn't updated with the new, priority list information like all the others do, (she is still listed as non-exempt), which seems to say that the LPGA hasn't made an official decision on her future just yet.

Hopefully they'll have this all cleared up in no time.

Also, I just started a women's golf/tennis blog myself, if you care to read it:

Anyone know of any good Golf Deal sites?

Anyone know of any golf deal website.  I am currently looking to revamp my entire golf look. That is to say, I'm looking for clothes, hats, accessories, woods, irons, bags, etc.  I have all old clubs, hell im still playing Tommy Armour 845 silver scotts.  Its about time to upgrade!  Also, what is a pretty standard price on getting your clubs fitted?

Lastly, I went to one of those deal of the day tracking sites to see if there were any golf ones up there and I found one called www.14stix.com

has anyone heard of this before and what are your thoughts on all that ive said above.  Thanks a lot!

2008 Rankings Galore

Happy holidays, HD!  Thought your readers might be interested in the following rankings/profiles I've been doing over at Mostly Harmless since the LPGA season ended.

Final LPGA ranking.  Lorena's got company.  These 51 girls really do rock.

Class of 2009.  Hint:  Michelle Wie is not #1.  Nor is Stacy Lewis.  Or even Shiho Oyama....

Final JLPGA Ranking.  Speaking of Oyama, she barely made the top 10.  3 others who will be playing close to a full schedule on the LPGA next season are ahead of her.

Class of 2008.  Yup, I ranked all 30 of 'em--from million-dollar winners Ya Ni Tseng and Na Yeon Choi to the ones who did worse than Violeta Retamoza.  Yup, some did.

Class of 2007.  It was a tough call, but I put their ROY back on top.

After Christmas, look for my ranking of the top 32 Young Guns--the best players from the rookie classes of 2006-2008....

Miho Koga Wins Ricoh Cup and JLPGA Money Title

Miho Koga birdied her last 2 holes in the final round of the JLPGA Tour Championship Ricoh Cup to get to -6, then benefitted from a birdie-bogey finish by Yuri Fudoh and a bogey-double bogey finish by Mi-Jeong Jeon that dropped each to -5.  With this improbable win, Koga not only tied Fudoh for the most wins on tour in 2008 (4), but also passed Ji-Hee Lee for the #1 spot on the final JLPGA money list (120.85M yen to 119.65M).  I wonder how different the Lexus Cup results would have been if Koga and Fudoh (or, for that matter, Sakura Yokomine, who finished 3rd on the money list despite only winning once this season) had represented Japan on Team Asia?  It's kind of sad that a tournament sponsored by Toyota can't be scheduled to accommodate Japan's finest!

Annika's drug test

Today at the ADT is causing a stir. Ron Sirak wrote about it. Steve Elling had the following to say.

"I'm serious and I was tested two weeks ago, so I don't really know what's going on," she said testily.

Guess they hadn't heard that she was retiring.

"I have no idea, but they're not going to let me go," she said, forcing a laugh. "Yeah, I guess you get tested every other week now."

*****

Even for an organization known for making head-shaking decisions over the years, this ranks at the bottom of the latrine in terms of asinine, idiotic developments.

I'm not going to get into whether this is an insult or not. Annika has flouted rules or broke them in the past, and I've never been willing to give  her a free pass just because she's a golf superstar.

When was she tested before by the LPGA? Two weeks ago the LPGA was in Japan, Annika wasn't in the field. Three weeks ago the LPGA was in South Korea, Annika was playing a LET event in China. Four weeks ago, Annika played a LPGA event in China. Here's Annika's LPGA results for 2008.

Annika played in Mexico last week. Did Annika mean Mexico or the LPGA China event? Or did she mixup the LET and the LPGA? I don't know if the LET has a drug testing policy. Or did Annika make it up? I don't believe that.

No member of the media at the ADT noted the discrepancy, just Annika's anger. Did they give Annika a free pass or did no one know how LPGA schedule? Probably the later, which shows we golf bloggers know this tour better than the old fashioned media  that covers the sport.
