Will New Owners of Superstition Mountain Try to Draw LPGA Back to Phoenix?
Or was the switch to a public course Phoenix's last gasp? Why the heck is Waste Management doing a PGA event and not an LPGA one? Isn't there at least one other corporation in Phoenix making money?
Sakura's Back!
Look out, Shinobu! With Sakura Yokomine's huge win over Yuri Fudoh this week, Moromizato is only 1 win and 30 million yen up on the best player on the JLPGA over the past 2 seasons! The Japan Women's Open is only 2 weeks away--should be a doozy!

A final-round 66 brought her to -17 and a 5-shot lead over Yukari Baba. Nobody has come close to her when she's been on this season. She's now 3rd behind Shinobu Moromizato and Sakura Yokomine on the money list, displacng fellow 3-time-winner Chie Armura. Wow!

Moromizato 1st to 4 Wins on the JLPGA
Remember when Shinobu Moromizato was struggling on the LPGA as she accompanied fellow Okinawan rookie Ai Miyazato in their rookie seasons? Well, forget that Moromizato. Version 2.0 is now the top player on the JLPGA. Having won for the 4th time on tour this season in a tense duel with Miho Koga and Akiko Fukushima, she's now 1 good tournament away from becoming the 1st to break the 100 million yen barrier in '09.
