The City of Sanford claimed its golf course, Mayfair Country Club once host to a LPGA Tournament in 1959, was designed by the legendary golf course architect Donald Ross. It's official (and unsurprising).

Joan played the LPGA Tour in the 1980's and I got to know her very slightly back then. She played out of the same golf course that my father was a member at in Boca Raton.
